No. elgniS runs account-less by design — no email or password required. This keeps the data we collect to a minimum.
When you check in, you choose an emoji that represents your mood — that's essentially your only ID, not your photo. Premium unlocks a much wider range of emoji. There's no in-app matching or reveal — if you want to meet someone, you read the room and approach them yourself, in person.
Everyone confirms they're 18+ before using the app. It's always your call whether, when, and how to approach someone — elgniS just shows you who's nearby and interested.
Any real place you're checked into — a bar, a show, a party, an event. You'll only see people checked in at or near the same venue as you.
elgniS works best where there are people around — bars, events, busy nights out. The more people check in nearby, the more you'll see.
